According to Robbie Merritt, many sections of the park and trails remain under water following the recent tornado. The other areas are still full of hazards, including downed trees and debris. Our team is working diligently to clear these hazards and ensure the safety of all park visitors.
Please bear with us during this challenging period. We are committed to reopening parts of the park and equestrian trails as soon as it is safe to do so. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We will provide updates as more sections become accessible.

WORKDAY AT ISLE DUBOIS . . .
Lorrie Gibbs and Linda Moore efficiently maintained the stable by spreading sand in stalls, replacing a broken board, and revitalizing the mounting ramp with fresh paint.
Through their hard work, Lorrie Gibbs and Linda Moore demonstrated that their efforts and commitment to maintaining the stable paid off, resulting in improved conditions, enhanced safety measures, and a more welcoming environment for both horses and riders alike.
Their hard work and dedication have undoubtedly made a significant positive impact. Thank you!

Hello Equestrian Friends,

The natural surface trails at Ray Roberts Lake SP have suffered severe erosion. Despite ongoing efforts to repair the 50+ mile trail system, we have limited resources.

To reduce trail damage, particularly from water, we will implement closures during wet conditions. Starting June 1, 2024, all equestrian trails will close during significant rainfall, along with DORBA mountain biking trails. These include trails at Isle du Bois, Greenbelt, and Jordan parks. The Bluestem equestrian campground and round pen will remain open. Trail status updates will be available on the park’s Facebook page, or by contacting Isle du Bois Park Headquarters.
Long-term closures will be posted on our park alerts website: https://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/ray-roberts-lake.
Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Many thanks,
Robbie Merritt
