TRAIL ALERT!!!
Watch out for bikers on equestrian trails. They are moving fast and often practice for a competition on trails.
Many DO NOT know that equestrians have the right of way, so please educate them. Be polite, but firm. Do not let them pass you, unless you have given them permission and you have had time to move your horse safely off the trail. Raise your arms and yell loudly - STOP PLEASE.
The trails are multi use. Everyone should be courteous and follow proper trail etiquette. There is a reason for this, too! The reasoning is that cyclists, with their potential for speed, could cause conflicts if they pass too quickly. Cyclists can easily stop and start, so they give the right of way to others. Horses, being large and unpredictable, are always given priority.
