About the Event
Enjoy the beautiful day with a flexible, informal ride in the park on Saturday, March 21, 2026.
You’re invited to join fellow riders for a relaxed trail ride and lunch gathering at Isle du Bois Bluestem Campground. This is a go-at-your-own-pace ride … ride as long or as little as you like, fast or slow, solo or with friends.
WHERE:
Bluestem Day Use Area (by the day-use stalls and water hose). Two shaded picnic tables are available.
Note: The Pavilion may be reserved by another group, but the Day Use area is a dependable and comfortable meeting spot.
LUNCH TARGET TIME:
12:30pm at the Bluestem Campground Day Use Area
(Plan your ride so you’re back around lunchtime.)
FLEXIBLE START TIMES:
Whenever you want! Want a longer ride? Come earlier and ride longer. Prefer a shorter outing? Come later. Ride before lunch, after lunch… or both! Jamie Erbes, LRRETA president, plans to be at the campground at 10am in case anyone needs a riding buddy.
TRAILHEAD FLEXIBILITY:
Start from Bluestem and ride out and back in either direction. Or start from Jordan Park or Elm Fork, pack your lunch on your horse, ride to Bluestem for lunch with the group, then ride back to your starting point. This flexible format allows for everything from a 45-minute ride to two or three hours in the saddle, whatever suits you and your horse.
RIDING BUDDY NEEDED?
If you’re coming alone and would like a riding companion, complete the form on the LRRETA website under Trail Info, Riding with Friends page, https://www.lrreta.com/riding-with-friends, to connect with others.
While LRRETA member attendance cannot be guaranteed, we hope members will be present and are always happy to visit with others about LRRETA’s mission and our work as a nonprofit organization.
Bring your lunch, enjoy the trails, meet new and/or old riding friends, and we’ll see you at the lunch tables!
