Projects Pending

At the beginning of 2025, LRRETA successfully obtained $169,000 via the TPWD Recreational Trail Grant Program to be used toward these projects:
  • Trail reroute and elevated walkway over Horse Bog Creek (Horse Blaze Trail)
  • New shaded pavilion at 428 Greenbelt Trailhead with a round pen and horse-watering station
  • Eleven plus miles of trail renovation, signage, and picnic table rest stops to reopen trails from 428 south to FM 380

Completed Projects 

Complete projects all made possible by previous grants, your donations, and volunteer hours!
  • 2024 Four new benches installed
  • 2024 Cleared and repaired tornado damage to trails
  • 2023 Corrals and ramps refurbished and painted
  • 2022 Water installed at day use stalls
  • 2021 Seven day use stalls constructed
  • 2020 UTV obtained for trail maintenance work
  • 2019 Established a container at Ise du Bois for storage of LRRETA trail maintenance equipment
  • 2018 Trail marker posts built and installed on 80% of the trails
  • 2017 Six covered stall structures constructed (Two horses each)
  • 2016 Five accessible horse-mounting ramps constructed
  • 2016 - 2013 $170,000 and countless volunteer hours resulted in a wonderful, elevated walkway on Horse Blaze Trail. Click on the link to read the story and see the pictures!
