TRAIL CLEAN UP ON SATURDAY JULY 25, 8 AM-NOON. Volunteers are to meet at Elm East parking lot at 8:00 am at the trailhead. We will have a table there for volunteers to sign in and get a volunteer window sticker so they will not have to pay entry fees. At that time we will assign them to the crew they will be working with. Minors will need parent present due to safety concerns on the trail work day.

Volunteers will be walking up to 3 miles on the trails, but we will have 1 vehicle and a couple gators to carry the equipment/ tools/ gear and for emergencies. If any volunteering LRRETA folks have a UTV, we could use 2 more that day if available just to help carry gear on the trails.

We will return to the parking lot at noon, and volunteers will need to sign-out before they leave (for our records).

Volunteers will need to bring/wear:
Closed toed shoes
Long pants
Their own gloves
Water ( we will have water jugs filled with ice/water to re-fill)

And recommended:
Sunscreen
Bug spray (chiggers are bad this year)
Eye protection
Loppers/pole saws if they have some

This will not be an equestrian ride/trail work day. We will be having equipment running with potentially lots of people moving around. The Rangers ask that we not bring horses this time.

If you have any questions about the volunteer day, please contact Bryan Daniels, Greenbelt Manager/ Resource Specialist
Ray Roberts Lake State Park, (940)686-2148 ext. 254.

Friends of Grace Lake,

Grace Lake Therapeutic Riding Center is having another obstacle fun day at the gorgeous Marshall Ranch in Princeton, TX on April 25, 2015 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.  We need volunteers to be safety riders, obstacle assistants, parking assistants and Coggins checkers.  We are staffing up now and would love for you to join our team.

The proceeds from this event support the Grace Lake Therapeutic Riding Center in Anna.  Rider fees only cover about 12% of the costs of the program so raising funds through events like this are critical to this great work.

Everyone had a great time last year and we listened to your comments to make the event even better this year

Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator Shelley Egger at 214-334-9867 or via email at theeggers@aol.com.

Also, Grace Lake has a need for more volunteers on Saturday for the spring session.  We are blessed to be serving more riders and need a few more great helpers!

Call Shelley to join a wonderful team!

Hold the date and "Hold your horses!"

The Texas Horse Park grand opening is scheduled for Saturday, March 28 2015, 10:30am to 1:30pm -- 811 Pemberton Road, Dallas, in the 6,000 acre Great Trinity Forest (8 miles south of Downtown Dallas off Loop 12).

Mayor Mike Rawlings will do the ribbon cutting. City Council is invited. Equest and River Ranch will have horses tacked and ready for photo ops with City Council members.

Equest Therapeutic Riding and River Ranch Educational Charities are the first tenants of the Texas Horse Park, with access to 3 barns and 2 covered arenas. This is the first phase of a multi-phase "Master Plan." With additional fund raising and your continued support, the Texas Horse Park has the potential to become an international competition venue for equestrian sports.

Thank you for your support!
